Once a traditional music song keeper, Jen Maurer is now an emerging song creator with ties to many American roots musics. Her genre defying sound has elements of Folk, Country, Americana, old-school Blues, and Indie Rock, with an emphasis on lyrical storytelling. Her songs cover love and heartbreak, but also stories about America’s history and its people. This is song writing at it’s finest, and in 2024 Jen received an Individual Excellence Award in Composition from the Ohio Arts Council, which she is putting to use in making her debut album. With her down to earth style, Jen’s musical voice embodies authenticity and simplicity.
