    Jen Maurer

    Video Co-Producer / Grantee / Songwriter

Jen Maurer has been a Northeast Ohio musical standout for over 30 years. She is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter.

Jen came from a musical household where both her mother and step-father played, as did most of their friends. That made her a lover and connoisseur of all the Roots Music styles. Her genre defying sound has elements of Folk, Country, Americana, old-school Blues, and Indie Rock, with an emphasis on lyrical storytelling. Her songs cover love and heartbreak, but also stories about America’s history and its people. In 2024 she received an Ohio Arts Council “Individual Excellent Award” in musical composition.

Jen loves engaging with people of all ages. She served as a U.S. Musical Ambassador to 9 countries via the U.S. State Department with the Zydeco-based band, Mo’ Mojo. She was a teaching artist in the Cleveland Public Schools for 11 years, helping students learn curriculum (especially for standardized testing) through song-writing. And she was a Zydeco/Cajun specialty music programmer on the Summit FM, a radio station based out of Akron, OH for 16 years.

She is most known in the area for her solo or duo work, or for playing with Mo’ Mojo or The Rhondas.
